ARTHUR MILLER'S A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE
New Haven's Canal Dock Boathouse
February 10-March 10, 2024
Directed by James Dean Palmer.
Long Wharf opened in 1965 with The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, one of the 20th Century’s greatest playwrights. Now join us at one of New Haven’s most iconic waterfront locations; the Canal Dock Boathouse, for A View From The Bridge; one of his most compelling plays about an Italian family’s journey towards belonging in America in the 1950’s. With its sweeping views of the New Haven waterfront and the iconic Q Bridge, the Boathouse, transformed by our designers into an amazing theatre, evokes the Brooklyn waterfront where Miller’s timeless story takes place.
Dominic Fumusa , who played "Kevin Peyton" opposite Edie Falco on Showtime's "Nurse Jackie,” will star as Eddie Carbone. Annie Parisse , known for her role as Alexandra Borgia on “Law & Order,” will star as Eddie’s wife Beatrice, . Paten Hughes, star and co-creator of the hit digital series “Heirloom,” will play their niece Catherine. Patricia Black, actress on the hit series “Pose,” will appear as the lawyer Alfieri alongside West End theater actor Antonio Magro as Marco and Mark Junek as Rodolpho. Rounding out the cast are theater and television actors Mike Boland and Todd Cerveris. .
In 1950s Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone (Dominic Fumusa) harbors a subconscious and jealous affection for his niece, Catherine (Paten Hughes,) whom he is raising with his wife Beatrice (Annie Parisse.) When distant cousins arrive unexpectedly from Italy and one of them falls for Catherine, Eddie takes drastic measures to protect his fragile American Dream. Deeply relevant, A View From The Bridge wrestles with truths about family, the complexities of how we assimilate and, ultimately, how we view ourselves as Americans.

"THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE"
The Pirates of Penzance returns to Broadway in John Rando’s star-studded, immersive, and hilariously silly production choreographed by Joshua Bergasse. It will be the 27th production of Pirates on a Broadway stage and the first Broadway production since 1982!
The revival expands on the sold-out production at Barrington Stages that brought joy to audiences AND critics alike:
“It’s hard to imagine more ideal entertainment than the exhilarating production of The Pirates of Penzance.”
“Rejoice greatly!….it’s funny – wildly, gloriously funny…Should this "Pirates" make it to Broadway, it'll be none too soon!”
“Pirates is a show we need to revisit regularly, a model of silliness that is also tender and witty and accessibly melodic and as surefire and confident as a cannon.”
“An appraisal of this “Pirates’’ should start with the artistry of Rando and Bergasse, whose electric staging and choreography fuse to form a propulsive force that blasts away any cobwebs that might cling to the 1879 Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. There is not a better time to be had in the theater...than at this exhilarating production.”

39 Steps is a comedic spoof of the classic 1935 film, with only 4 'insanely talented' actors portraying more than 150 characters, sometimes changing roles in the blink of an eye. The brilliantly madcap story follows our dashing hero Richard Hannay as he races to solve the mystery of The 39 Steps, all the while trying to clear his name! The show’s uproarious fast-paced 100 minutes promises to leave you gasping for breath… in a good way!
